ASB opens transformed branch at The Palms
ASB is reopening a completely refurbished branch at The Palms in Christchurch after earthquake damage closed the shopping Mall in February.
Branch Manager Dan Grafton says the new look branch will open on Monday December 19, and includes the latest branch design features and technology. “We’ve taken the opportunity to transform our branch at The Palms following the temporary closure. We’ve added features that make banking more convenient for our customers, with self-service facilities available whenever the mall is open, so our customers can use them outside of branch opening hours.”
“To celebrate our return to The Palms we are also sponsoring a series of free grand piano concerts for the public to enjoy while they are Christmas shopping. Renowned Christchurch Pianists John Bevin and Doug Caldwell will be performing in the mall at varying times until 22 December,” he says.
The refurbished branch will offer the very latest in banking technology including:
- FastNet online banking in-branch for ASB customers to use.
- FastDeposit - a quick and convenient way to deposit money.
- The latest ASB ATM technology.
- FastCount - a coin sorting machine located in the branch. No need for customers to sort or bag coins before they come into the branch - our FastCount machine will do this for them.
- Video conference phones for customers to access a wide range of ASB specialists face-to-face.
“We’ve added an area where our customers can sit and rest, as well as enjoy a hot drink from our coffee machine. We’ve also created a concierge desk at the entrance of the bank, so we can welcome customers and help them as they enter,” Mr Grafton says.
“Our team is looking forward to coming back to The Palms shopping centre, and we look forward to welcoming our customers when they return to the branch.”
While the Shirley branch underwent repairs and refurbishment, a temporary portacom branch at Marshland Road has been available for customers living in the eastern suburbs of Christchurch. This temporary branch will close on Sunday 18 December. ASB is currently reviewing options for relocating this temporary branch to service customers in other parts of Christchurch.
